Intensive Russian Strikes Cut Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was killed in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has escalated attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in supplying defensive weapons and implementing sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty rockets struck the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.

The attacks come after periods of air raids in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
